EFFICACY OF ZINC SULFIDE- CHITOSAN NANOPARTICLES AGAINST BACTERIAL DIABETIC WOUND INFECTION

This study was aimed evaluation, Zinc sulfide-chitosan nanoparticles (ZnS-chitosan NPs) as an antibacterial agent. The of were synthesized using a single-step colloidal process. Different factors optimized, which included pH, temperature, reaction time, concentrations chitosan and chloride .The optimal conditions achieved at pH 7, temperature 60℃, time 60min, with 0.04 mg/ml chloride, 2.5 ml 0.1mg/ml Sodium sulfide 0.009 M chitosan. size ZnS-chitosan NPs tested by FESEM 35nm, surface morphology done AFM. Moreover, X-ray Diffraction (XRD) characterized the crystal structure. While nature functional groups present in determined Fourier transforms infrared (FT-IR) analysis. sensitivity bacterial isolates to antibiotics tested, bacteria more sensitive, resistant, moderate range ten antibiotics. (12.5, 25, 50, 100, 200, 400 μg/ml) investigated against multidrug resistance (MDR) Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive bacteria) Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram-negative bacteria). minimum inhibitory concentration pathogenic 100 μg /ml for while 50 aeruginosa. Cytotoxicity effects on normal cell lines (WRL-68) MTT assay. results showed that no cytotoxic effect line.
